Head of Animal Health  Animal Husbandry Department of Padang, Efison, urged people to immediately impound domestic birds to prevent spread of bird flu virus outbreak.

It says, ideally safe distance from the residence of poultry cages at least as far as 10 meters, so as to prevent the possibility of transmission of bird flu virus from poultry to humans.

In addition, he also appealed to people who keep poultry for routine spraying the cage by using a liquid disinfectant or can be used in liquid detergents.

"If people find any dead birds, soon burn and bury. Do carcasses dumped into water sources such as rivers, ditches, sea or existing landfills," he said.

He said, residents should wear masks and gloves when in contact with sick birds or dead.

Padang City Government, has also issued a ban on poultry brought into and out of locations that otherwise attacked by the bird flu virus.

Efison reveals, of the eleven districts in the city of Padang, nine of whom currently found cases of bird flu in poultry.

On 21 points in nine districts were found positive cases infected, and 30 other points is still a suspeck or unexpected.
