The case of chickens died suddenly due to an outbreak  of bird  flu re-emerged in several areas of Bantul Regency of Yogyakarta  Special Region. Until the end of  February 2011 the Department of Agriculture and Forestry Bantul noted there had been three cases of the virus caused poultry deaths "avian influenza".

Kasubid Animal Health Department of Agriculture and Forestry Bantul regency, drh Sri Budoyo said it had received reports of poultry deaths from poor districts and Sanden. "Of the three cases that we stated positive of AI there are about a hundred dead birds," said Sri Budoyo.

To anticipate the spread of bird flu virus, officials spraying disinfectant in poultry markets and a potentially transmit the virus. "We do routine spraying in market poultry, cattle sheds and the slaughterhouse,"said Sri Budoyo.

In the past two years, cases of bird flu in Bantul has decreased, in 2009 there were 70 cases, in 2010 there were 29 cases and up to February 2011 only 3 cases.

Yet people still are encouraged to remain vigilant against the threat of this pandemic. If there is to know sudden death of chickens, residents are encouraged to immediately report to the village government or to the offices, so the officer can immediately follow up.
